Planting Flowers and Peppers 040909

I got a great idea that since we use so many peppers that we should try to grow our own. So I bought the seeds at Walmart and then we bought the long pot at Lowes on another day. Then Tye and I decided to get planting (and plant some flowers too).

Here Tye is with all our supplies.
Prepping the soil.
Digging holes to put the pepper seeds in.
Covering up the seeds.

Putting soil in HIS pot for HIS flowers.
Patting it down.
Then Tye spied an ant and wanted to kill it. So he ran over and stepped on it.
But when he lifted his foot the ant was still alive and crawling so he stomped on it again and then used his hand to push down on his foot to make sure the ant was squished! lol
"Maybe standing up and pushing on my foot will work better."
Whew, it worked! lol

Watering the flowers and peppers.
This is Tye's flower pot and his flowers (what we hope will be his flowers! lol).

The whole line up of what we did today. The one on the left is a rooted plant that I repotted. I salvaged the original plant from the garbage when I was living in Maryland working for the Driggs Corporation. Every 6 months or so they would come in and pull out all the plants and throw them away and put new ones in. Well the plants were perfectly fine, so I salvaged two from the garbage sack.
I have had them ever since and I just cut them off and root them and then repot. Well actually, I did lose one of the two original plants, but now I have 3 pots of them from the 1 plant. (Originally I didn't keep the parts that I cut off, I would just throw them away, but then my mom showed me how to root them and repot! Thanks Mom!) I love this plant because it is VERY hard to kill it! I am so not a green thumb, so I have to have hearty plants that will make it through.
Anyway, then the long one is the peppers. The other three are flowers. Tye's pot (the little one) is Dianthus (he picked that one). The next two (not sure which one is which) is Chinese Forget-Me-Nots and Violas.
I will post the progress as we see it!
