Daisy's First Haircut 4/28/11

I didn’t realize how long Daisy’s hair had gotten until we decided it was finally time to cut it. I didn’t want her to be shaved, so I just told them to cut it fairly short though. I really liked the place that did it, but I am not sure they did the best cut. The hair on her legs was still a little too long. But I am soooooo glad they didn’t cut her tail! I love the long hairs on her curly tail! BUT when they cut her hair all the black hair that made her look like a German Shepard got cut off. That made me sad!!! I loved the black hair…I hope it grows back. I do love the bandana they put around her neck though. It is super cute! Here she is with her new hairdo! Isn’t she adorable?!

Daisy's Favorite Treat 4/22/11

Well we have found Daisy's favorite non-dog treat! lol
YOGURT!!

After I ate my yogurt one evening Daisy was just begging and begging for it. So I figured what the heck, I will give her a taste. So we put the dish on the floor and she immediately started going after it, but it was sliding all over the floor. So Kevin held it for her while she got her whole face in there and had yogurt all over her nose!!! She was cute and funny! :-)

Eagle of the Month 04/21/11

One Saturday in Tye's backpack I find a note that says something to the effect of "Dear Stevens Family, The Eagle of the Month Awards Ceremony has been changed to April 21, 2011." I was like, "HUH?!" Why do I care if it's been changed? lol Did Tye actually get student of the month?? Luckily I had his teacher's cell number cause I didn't want to wait until Monday to find out! So I texted her and asked, "Is this right? Did Tye get student of the month?!" lol She responded that he had and that I should not be so surprised because he is a great kid. And I said, "yeah, but not a great student". Apparently that is not the criteria for getting Eagle of the Month! lol :-) It actually has more to do with their "character" and being kind and honest and friendly. Obviously we know that is definitely Tye. Always the compassionate one. :-)

My camera wasn't working so great so I had a problem getting a non-blurry good picture right when he got the award. lol
He was so proud he HAD to show it off! Most of the pictures looked like this! lol
Finally a good picture! lol
I had to watch West that day so we took him with us. Tye thought it was awesome that West got to see him get his award! lol :-)
Kevin had to run out as soon as they presented Tye with his award so it was just a picture of Tye and I. :-)
Then they gave us cinnamon rolls to celebrate! YUMMY!
West LOVED the cinnamon roll!
Tye gets into his food!! hehehe
A picture of him with his principal Mrs. Guy.
We are so proud of you buddy! You really are a terrific kid! Congrats on getting Eagle of the Month! Keep up the good work! We love you lots and are so blessed to have you in our lives! :-)

Tye's new bed 04/15/11

Kevin's parent's bought Tye a twin bed for his birthday. He is so dang short he has still fit in his toddler bed all this time! But it was time to finally get him a big boy bed and so they offered to buy it for him for his birthday. They let him help pick it out online.

When it got here, Jack was here so he put it up for us. The only included 3 slats on the bed so when we got the mattress on and Daisy sat on it and sank through we knew it was a problem!!! ROFL! So Jack headed to Home Depot and got them to cut some more and we got them put in and it made it much more stable! lol

So here is his bed. I already had sheets because a few years ago when I bought his toddler bed I bought these sheets thinking they were for the toddler bed and they weren't. (In my defense they came up when I put in the toddler bed criteria on Target.com! lol I got them for a great price and now I think I know why!!! lol The vehicles fly and drive upside down! lol The top border is on the wrong end!!! lol Click on the pic to see what I mean! lol See the little blue and red strip on the top by his pillow would be the normal top part of the sheet that you fold down!!! But that makes the vehicles fly and drive upside down!! lol I guess unless you are IN the bed then they are flying and driving right side up! ROFL!)
Here is his reaction...not the best photo placement! lol
Then he had to get on his bed and test it out! :-)
HE LOVES IT!
Thanks Oma and Opa for the great birthday present!!!! He's already asking about the nightstand with the clock on it! ROFL! :-) (He saw it when he helped pick it out online.)

First Tomato Harvest from our garden 4/11/11

Our garden is growing well, especially the tomatoes. Here is a view of the whole garden.
Out tomato plant, it doesn't look like much but you will see there is something there in a little bit.
Pepper plant #1 Yep a pretty pepper growing!
Onion square #1
Onion square #2
Our carrots
Pepper plant #2 Another pretty pepper growing!
Lettuce square #1
Radish square #2
Lettuce square #2, not growing is well, but at least growing.
Pepper plant #3 There are two peppers on here.
Radish square #1
Here are the tomatoes! They are getting red! Oh and BTW, I thought these were going to be regular size tomatoes not cherry tomatoes! UGH! What in the world am I going to do with these tiny tomatoes?!?! lol Well we picked them and let the guys eat them.
Here is Tye picking them!

We only got 3 with this first picking.
Now the boys get to try them out. This is one of the first times Tye has been willing to try tomatoes. He stuck it in the first time and then took it back out. A little hesitant.
Kevin, of course, gobbled his!
Jack talked to Tye and told him they would do it together. So we counted 1, 2, 3 and they put them in. Tye chomped and the juices and seeds gushed into his mouth and he immediately spit it out and said he didn't like it! lol That's my boy! lol But I am so proud of him trying it!

Tye's Running Club 4/7/11

Tye's school started a running club for the kids and the first 50 kids to sign up were going to be able to participate. So as soon as I saw it I thought it would be perfect for Tye. He loves running around and it would be a nice thing that eventually he and I could do together.

Today was their first day and it was hot out there! lol They went over the rules, stretched and then began running.

Mrs. Gross had them doing fun exercises...high knees, sideways shuffles, running backwards, etc.

Here is the boy with his tongue hanging out...he does that ALL the time when he runs. One of these days he is going to bite his own tongue off! lol
He had a great time. He was super sweaty afterward but really enjoyed it! Now he asks every day if it is running club! lol They will be doing a fun run at the end of the year so watch for pictures of that!
