So if any of you follow my scrapbooking blog you have seen and heard a little bit about this. But here in Florida we have been experiencing some unusually cold weather. It has been freezing temperatures for 11 nights straight. It has been soooooo cold here, even the gloves, coats and hats are all picked over or gone in all the stores! Every time we go outside Tye sings the Baby, It's Cold Outside song. So I got it on video. Too funny!
The other bad thing about all this cold weather is we live about 5 minutes from Plant City, which is the winter strawberry capital of the world. The cold weather of course kills the strawberries, so to prevent that the farmers run their sprinklers all night which coats the strawberries and actually puts a layer of ice frozen over them to insulate them. Strange but true. Anyway, since there has been so many cold nights in a row the farmers have used a TON of water from the aquifer. Because of this we are having a HUGE number of sink holes. In fact, there was one on I-4, the main interstate between Tampa and Orlando. Last week I went to the temple in Orlando and on the way home I went past the sink hole on I-4 and took that exit (that we normally take) and went down the road and there was a sink hole on that road too...so I had to detour and go another way. Got to another road we normally take and it was closed too due to a sink hole! So of the 5 roads I normally take to go to the temple 3 of them had sink holes on them! YIKES! Tye even said the road his bus takes to go to school had a sink hole on it so the bus had to go a different way!
Oh and this same morning I took this video we were going to church and on the way we passed this house that has quite a few citrus trees in their yard. They had their sprinklers going that night and the ground was covered with cool ice formations. I wish I had had my camera because it was SUPER cool!!!! Just like you see in those neat ice pictures. Icicles hanging every where and all over the ground!
