Easter 2008

Okay, I forgot and skipped right over Easter. I am trying to catch up again today! lol Tye and I colored eggs earlier in the week. He wasn't really so sure what was going on and was so surprised when I pulled the first egg out and it was colored! We did not do it last year, ran out of time, so I was determined to do it this year. He had a grand time, I wish we could have done more eggs, but then there is always the, "what the heck am I going to do with all these hard boiled eggs now?" syndrome after! So we only did 1 dozen, turned out to be 2 eggs per color. Then he put stickers on them. He was so proud of them!

Easter was a crazy day, I felt like we ran and did non-stop from the moment we woke up (well I woke up, since Kevin was already awake because he works nights over the weekend now.) After getting ready, we got Tye up and ready. Then took him out to see what the Easter Bunny had brought him and to search for Easter Eggs. He had fun doing that. Then it was off to church (we have 9am church) so it was a fast and early morning to get everything done. The kids sang in sacrament meeting, "Did Jesus Really Live Again?" Since Tye is now in Sunbeams he went up and since I am the primary choiristor was up there too. The kids did great, Tye on the other hand didn't sing, of course, but he did drive something! lol Later Kevin asked him what he was driving and he told us "a boat". (Like we even have one that we go on ever so he would think of that instead of a car! lol) Silly boy. Everyone thought he was cute and funny. As they were getting off the stand, Tye decided to jump the three steps instead of walk down them. ARGH! lol And then he takes off down the isle. I had to follow him even though our seat was on the other side of the chapel. Oh well.

After church we went to Oma and Opa's house for dinner and to spend time with Kevin's family. They had an Easter Egg hunt and the kids had a great time. They also really enjoyed Opa's new tree swings! Tye couldn't figure out how to stay on the disc one and kept sliding all over the place! He had lots of fun playing with Opa and the cousins. We had two major mishaps while there. First, Tye was playing in the rocking chair and I kept telling him to sit down, well he didn't listen and then next thing we knew he flipped over the arm of the chair and landed on his stomach with his feet still kindof in the air up the side of the chair. He started crying and said his back hurt (he later ended up having a bruise right in the middle of his forehead). We put some ice on it and it still hurt the next day (so we had him lay down on the couch all day Monday and it seemed to be better.) Well, that was not the only thing he did...a little while later he was playing on the swing laying on his stomach on it. He lost his center on it and off he went the other side onto the ground. He was covered with dirt, it was in his mouth, hair, clothes, etc. Poor boy, we said we were going to have to take him to the hospital before the day was over! But we made it through, luckily. He had lots of fun and we ended up with way too much candy. Good thing there are no more candy holidays until Halloween! Overall, it was a great day!
