Memorial Day 052509

On Memorial Day each year our bishopric (church leaders) does a breakfast at the local park for everyone in our church. This year they had pancakes, eggs, bananas, bacon and orange juice. Kevin was not able to go with us because he had to work. So Tye and I went by ourselves!

The line was so long, the "cooks" could not keep up with the amount of people there. So you typically had to wait to get your food. After we waited almost 30 minutes to get our food and only had pancakes and eggs, I decided the bacon was not needed so we scooted over and got the banana and syrup.

Tye LOVED the pancake! But was not happy that the bananas had been cut in half so it was starting to turn brown!! lol Oh well, I thought it was a great breakfast.
Then it was time to play on the playground with everyone else.

Then he saw some kids playing baseball and he was definitely getting in on the action. He ran over and tried to snatch the bat, but the guy told him he had to wait his turn and to go play "outfield". Which meant stand out there because no one was even going after the ball. Tye didn't even go after it, he just stood there. We need to work on that I guess. But then it was finally his turn to bad. So he took his swing and sent the ball flying. He probably hit it the second farthest of the kids and he was about the second smallest! lol Great job buddy!!! You are awesome!

Then when his batting turn was over he was done and found a soccer ball instead! He looks like a pro in this picture doesn't he?! lol I really need to start checking into it so I don't miss the sign up again this fall.
That was pretty much it for the day. We had some turkey burgers for dinner but just relaxed most of the day.
