A Historic Day in the Sports World

As you already know I am a HUGE Olympic fan! I watch as much as I possibly can. Today was shaping up to be a historic day and it did not disappoint. Michael Phelps was looking to be the first Olympian to win 8 gold medals in one Olympic. Yesterday he tied Mark Spitz's record of 7 gold medals in one Olympic. Well today he was able to accomplish that goal. Not to mention all of them in record time, 8 world records and 1 Olympic record. There were blow outs and miracle touches. It is absolutely amazing to watch history unfold! I am so glad to have been able to watch him get every one of his gold medals this year.

I was able to watch on the 12th (it was actually the 13th in China--12 hour time difference) when he became the first person in history to have 10 career Olympic gold medals. With what he was able to accomplish over the last few days with the additional gold medals he now has 14 gold medals the most EVER in history. He can now be called the greatest swimmer, Olympian, and probably athlete of all time.
