Tye's Big Crash 091808

On Thursday Kevin and I had gone swimming after we dropped Tye off at Pre-K. As soon as we got home I got in the shower. While I was in the shower Tye's school called and said he had fallen and hit his head and thought we should come get him. Kevin said he would go, but I said, No I would go get him since I knew Kevin would end up coming home with our child but not one lick of information.

So as soon as I arrived he was laying down on some beanbags they have in their classroom. His teacher was sitting right there with him holding ice on his head. As soon as Tye saw me he started crying and I picked him up. He clung to my neck but quit crying. I looked at his head and was shocked to see this huge monster growing out of it! I swear it was a horn!! lol The bump was protruding close to an inch and I am not even kidding. His teacher said that it had even gone down! YIKES! Poor baby! So of course I asked what happened. She said they were all playing on the playground and I guess around the edge there is a board and he didn't pick his feet up and tripped on the board and landed head first on the concrete. She said he didn't even put his hands down to catch himself, he did it with his head instead. So we filled out the incident report. (His second since starting school! Not good! The last one he ran right into the wall outside.) Geez, I am surprised we have not been to the ER a million times with this kid already! He just has a hard head is all I have to say. One of the little girls in his class kept coming over to check on him. In the few minutes I was there she came over about 5 times and told him and I "I drew another picture for you!" It was so cute (and she is so cute...maybe I can get them to go for an arranged marriage! lol just kidding!)

Once I got him home I put some more ice on his head and then thought, I should take some pictures of this. So I did and here they are. Unfortunately, you cannot even see how far this bump stuck out from his head. Just take my word for it, it was far! Luckily, by the end of the day most of the swelling was gone. He did not have any symptoms of a concussion so we just tried to keep him laying down (almost impossible with an active 4 year old) and putting ice on it from time to time. We didn't want him to have a brain freeze! hehehe

The next day he was totally fine except the pretty red scratch on his head. When I took him to school all the girls came up and asked him "are you okay Tye man?" (That's what they call him at school.) His teachers tried to look at it and give him a hug and kiss and he was having no part of it. That's good....no kissing anyone except your mamma until you are at least 25! lol (Oh wait, except that girl that I have now arranged for you to marry. LOL!!) So he seems back to his old self and all is well. I am sure in a few days the scratch will be gone too and he will no longer remember any of it! Thank goodness!
