Our 9th Anniversary

Thursday was our 9th anniversary. Wow time sure is flying! That day we had other things going on so we planned our celebration for Friday. That was a chore in and of itself! lol The lady that usually watches Tye for us had a school carnival and couldn't watch him Friday night. The other people we use the wife had shingles and so no one was really allowed in their house. Opa was sick so I didn't even ask. One of the ladies I work with wasn't returning my phone calls, so I am not sure what happened there. We were down to our last resort that I could think of and then we were either going to have to schedule a different day or take Tye with us! lol So I called the Claytons and they were more than pleased to watch him for us! YAY!! She told me she didn't care what time we got back even if it was midnight as long as we had fun. I let her know I was certain it wouldn't be that late! hehehe :-)

Friday morning when I got up Kevin had a beautiful set of roses. The arrangement wasn't that great because he arranged them himself and let's just say that is not one of his talents! lol Kevin each year gets me roses for our anniversary. Usually one for each year we have been married, but sometimes he just gets a dozen! lol He knows that my favorite roses are the multi-colored, yellow and peachish orange ones. But instead of being the multicolored ones he got me red ones. I was a little surprised because he always gets me my favorites, but these were so unique. They were not JUST regular red roses, they are dark and light red. They almost look like they have faint zebra stripes on them. Very pretty, so I was not at all upset. (Later, since he worked the night before so he was sleeping when I got up, I did tell him how pretty they were, but I asked about my favorites and he said they were all wilted and loved how these looked so figured I would like them much more than wilted ones! lol Good call. lol) Here are a few pictures of them, but they just DO NOT do them justice. I think I took close to 25 or more pics (most got deleted) but I just could not capture how pretty they are in person. This is the best I could do.
Well our actual date started off bad, as we got out of the house later than we had wanted and missed the first show. So we decided to go eat dinner instead and then watch the movie after. We went to a place called Fuego's for dinner. It is a Brazilian type restaurant. They have other food, but we had been there before and got the Rodezeo (an all you can eat thing). Let me explain what happens. First when you get there they give you some bread with a garlic type butter. Once you order the Rodezeo they bring out a huge salad, it has avacados, olives, onions, tomatos and jalepeno peppers. Next they bring out the sides, which include fried plantains, white rice, yellow rice, beans and garlic mashed potatoes. Along with 3 different sauces for your meat. Then the best part comes. The meat servers come out with these huge skewers of meat! You use your little tongs and they cut off a slab for you! YUMMMMMMM!!! They have different kinds, we didn't have all that we had the first time and had new things this time that we didn't have the first time. We ended up with a flank steak, some other steak, parmesean chicken (it is in bite size pieces, about the size of a golf ball), chicken wrapped in bacon, ribs, steak wrapped in bacon and pork loin roast (I think that was everything). Well they keep making the rounds with these skewers. You have a little circle with one side green and the other side is red. So if you have a lot on your plate and don't want to get anymore right then you can turn the circle to red and the servers will pass by your table. But then when you are ready for more you can turn it back to green and get whatever comes by next. You can eat as much or as little as you want. When you are done you turn it to red and you are done. Also included in your meal at the end is some dessert. You can choose from flan, carrot cake, chocolate cake and bread pudding. I chose the chocolate cake, but we had to take our dessert home. We were WAAAAAAYYYYYYY too full! lol

After we were done it wasn't quite time for our movie to start so we went into a Christmas shop. It had some really cute ornaments for fairly cheap prices. We found something for the Claytons as a thank you for watching Tye. Then off to the movie.

We went and saw Fireproof. It is by the creators of Facing the Giants (another great movie I highly recommend). Fireproof is a great movie for an anniversary, but really good for any time! It is about marriage and the struggles of it and what we can do to get through those and make a marriage work. But really it could be applied I think to all relationships! Here is the link to the movie website with a trailer if you want to check it out or haven't heard about it: http://www.fireproofthemovie.com/ . Kirk Cameron is the leading actor in the movie. I also just found out there is a book about it (I just ordered it from Amazon.com--thanks for the info Karrilee!) too, so I am excited for that because as we were leaving the theatre Kevin and I both said we thought it would be cool if there really was a book about the Love Dare that they talk about in the movie.

We had a great night, It was very enjoyable to spend time together alone (without a little one needed our attention). I was told Tye was a good boy for the Claytons (of course isn't he pretty much always?!). Tye and I were tired so we raced home and then Kevin raced off to work. Thanks dear for a memorable night! :-)
