Trunk or Treat 103108

A couple of weeks ago we were trying to get Tye's costume together. Opa put in his head that he wanted to be a ghost because it was an easy costume (sorry I want to see my child's face, especially at this age!), but I X'ed that one!! lol Tye then was saying he wanted to be a race car driver. I found one with Oriental Trading, but we decided to keep look as it was only the "pit crew" although I think they basically wear the same thing. Anyway, Walmart had nothing unless he wanted to be the itsy bitsy spider. Too hot for here though! lol So we went off to Spirits Halloween Costume store and looked around. I found a Speed Racer costume but Tye said no. He found a police man costume and we thought it was perfect until we tried it on him. TOOOOOOOO BIG!!! So off to find the toddler section. No police costume in there. We found lots of HOT costumes that wouldn't work here. Finally we found a fireman costume and he was ecstatic! I was worried it would be too hot, so we took it out and the material was extremely lightweight, so it worked out perfectly! Opa loaned us his hose so he could be a real fireman!

So Friday night our church had a trunk or treat. We decided it was much safer for someone that is only 4 years old! Plus they usually have food and games so it is an enjoyable evening.

I got Tye dressed in his costume while he convinced his daddy to go with us. Of course we did the whole costume pictures! Then we took him to Oma and Opa's house so they could see how cute he was in his costume. Oma LOVED it! (More pictures of course! lol) Opa thought it was pretty great too.

Off to the church for trunk or treat. They did have hot dogs, puff cheetos (generic that were actually kindof nasty! lol), and lemonade.

After they ate, Tye decided to go do the cakewalk. Kevin helped him. The game was set up weird because when you got out you got your cupcake. So I was like, "just get out first so you can get your cupcake!" The kids never figured it out, I guess they thought running to get on a new number was much more fun! lol When Kevin and Tye finally got out Tye got to pick his cupcake. He decided he wanted the HUGE white one! lol Kevin and Tye shared the cupcake at the same time!! It was soooo funny and Tye got it all over his face and even up his nose!!

That was the only game there was to play. It was so lame! Usually they have TONS of games and the kids can play them practically all night. So instead, we started trunk or treating. Tye was really cute, he always said trick or treat and luckily mommy was there to remind him to say thank you too. Everyone thought he was just adorable and I agree!!! :-) He had fun and filled the bag we took (it was a small one on purpose, we don't need much candy here in our house!). Once we went to each trunk, we were done and happy to go. It was a nice evening even if it wasn't as fun as it normally is.
