Bye Jane 12/5/08

So a couple of days after I returned to Florida my friend Jane called. Jane and I met as she was new in our ward (church) and we were assigned to be her visiting teachers. Jane and I became instant friends and we found out we both liked to scrapbook. So we started getting together and scrapping. It was a lot of fun, however, I think she always accomplished way more pages than I did!!! lol She has had a lot of things happen in the last couple of years and I am glad I have been able to share them with her, even if they weren't always good.

Anyway, Jane called and left me a message that said she wanted to talk to me and tell me something before I heard it through the grapevine. I thought, "oh my, she is going to tell me she is getting married." So I called her back and she said, "There is something I need to tell you." I said, "you're getting married." She said, "NO! I'm moving." I said, "where to Orlando?" Since that is where the guy lives that she has been dating. Again she said, "no, to Tennessee." I was SHOCKED! Her son lives up there and she has been out of a job for several months, but found one up there over Thanksgiving while she was there visiting her son. She also found an apartment and her current place is letting her out of her lease! Everything just fell into place for her so she decided to go for it. There was nothing keeping her here now. So then I asked when and she said, "tomorrow!" WHAT?!?!?!?! lol So of course I offered to help her pack. So as soon as I got Tye home from school and lunch eaten I went over there for about an hour and helped. I am getting good at this as I have helped her move 3 times now! lol

I told her I would come back later to help some more after I got dinner and she got the Uhaul. Then around 6:00 she called and said that the Uhaul was too little and she wasn't going to be able to get the couch in and did I know anyone who needed one. She was going to just give it away, but it is a super nice house and she needs the money to pay for the move and to get things set up there so I said she should say $100. Well my friend from work, Loretta actually had told me a few days earlier how she was looking for one for her son to put in the new apt he had moved into. So I called her up, they were going to come over and look at it. So both Carolyn and I went back over to Jane's to help her finish up.

Loretta and her hubby arrived and looked at the couch and Jane also said to take the chair and some TV trays to go with it. They decided they wanted it and Jane ended up also including the end table and a bookcase! All for $100!! What a steal and Loretta was so grateful, several times after she has told me how happy she was to have gotten all that stuff and how wonderful it looks in her son's apartment.

We ended up staying MUCH longer than we had expected, but before we left we took a few pictures together. First is a pic of Jane and I. I am looking oh so attractive! lol

This is Tye sleeping with the little bear Jane gave him. (The larger bear is the one he got from the judge at his adoption.) He sleeps with them almost every night now. Too cute!

Jane, I wish you the best of luck up there. I miss you already. When are you coming to visit???? lol I hope it is soon. Sorry your Titan's didn't win so I knew you were coming then! Oh well, soon I hope!

Oh and a cute story, a few weeks ago Tye had scooted over next to me on the bench at church before it started and said, "that's Jane's spot." (She used to sit with us sometimes at church.) I said, "oh honey, that is so sweet of you, but remember Jane moved far, far away so she won't be here for church." It was soooooooooo sweet of him! I am so proud of how thoughtful he is. He said, "oh yeah, right" because he then remembered she had moved.
