Dinner at Grandma's 061709

We got up and had a nice breakfast with Mary and Jack and then hit the road around 10am. We made good time (we are much better at being on time when we drive than when we fly! lol). By the time we were in downtown Pittsburgh, Kevin's sister, Kimberly called to ask where we were. I was a little confused because the exit numbers were going down and we were at exit 3 (I didn't realized they were going down until you passed through the tunnel and then were something else on the other side! lol). So I told her we were about 3 miles from the hotel when in fact we were closer to 15 miles probably! oops! lol But we were there about the time we said we thought we would be.

We got checked into our room, took our stuff up and went to the bathroom and then headed out the door for dinner at Kevin's grandmother's place. She lives in one of those retirement communities. They had meals together but each have separate apartments with kitchens in it. It is a very nice place.

So we had dinner in the private dining area (well really the second kitchen because the "private dining room" was too small! lol) At dinner was Kevin's parent's (hereafter refered to as Oma and Opa), Kimberly and her two girls, Laramie and Angelie, Kevin's grandma, Kevin's aunt (his mom's sister), Nancy and her husband Bill, and Bill's mom, Wilma, who also lives in the retirement community.

In the picture below left to right is Wilma, Grandma, Opa, Oma, Kimberly, Angelie, Kevin, Tye, Bill, Nancy and Laramie. (I was taking the picture, of course! lol)

It was sooooo good to see Nancy and Bill. They had never met Tye so that was cool. Also we have only seen them once since we got married (10 years ago this coming November!). We had an enjoyable conversation and a pretty decent meal (considering they ran out of what they originally had).

Wilma brought each of the kids a little figurine gift. Tye got a bunny rabbit and thought it was pretty nifty.

I think we got to bed around 10pm (wow I don't think I have seen a 10pm bedtime, except on nights I work, for YEARS! lol)
