Tonight we finally got around to planting the carrots we bought. We bought the "short and sweet" variety. I like baby carrots, but hate having to cut up big carrots. So I think they will work out great for us! Tye is a good helper. :-)

In the original lettuce square we had two plants growing in the same quadrant, so we had to cut the smaller of the two so the first bigger one could continue to grow. I hate doing that, but when you only have one (well two in the same quadrant) out of the four that have even grown, then it is really hard to cut one off. lol But I bucked up and snipped it off. I gave it to Kevin to wash and eat and he said, "Wow, that was really good!" Fresh is better! lol

What the garden looks like today. It sure is growing!!!

The remaining lettuce plant.

The two radish squares.

The one pepper plant that had the first two peppers. They are getting closer to being ready to pick!!

The onions we planted from seeds, they are growing taller!

The pepper plant that was the last to get a pepper growing on it. This one has grown really fast once it started going!

The second set of onion sets (plants) that I planted. These were sooooo dead looking when I planted them, but after watering them a couple of days they started shooting new green stems (is that what they are called??? I don't know what you call the top of the onion! lol)

The second pepper plant to produce, the pepper is still growing in a really weird angle/shape! lol But it is still growing and almost ready also.

The second square of lettuce has now started 3 heads of lettuce!!!!! WOOHOO so glad I took the chance and planted a second square even though the back of the package kindof said it was too late in the season. But if I hadn't I would have to still buy lettuce all season!

Look at the original square of onion sets!!!! They are getting TALL and the onions are getting big! I kindof dig around them so the soil is loose so they can continue to grow. They are looking great!

Look at the sweet potatos!!! They are really coming back from the wilted horrible state they were in when we planted them. I love seeing things coming back from the sorry state they were in. And I REALLY love seeing them produce!

So there is our update for this week. So fun and exciting! Tye loves it and we are already planning different things we are going to do next year. We are learning lessons of what to do better next year. We are very happy with all that we have done so far. :-)
