Lowry Park Zoo 5/29/10

Tye kept telling us he wanted to have his birthday party at Lowry Park Zoo. However, it is OUTRAGEOUS!!! There is no way we could afford to do that unless we won the lotto! lol So we decided the Saturday after his birthday we would take him and have a little mini party, just the three of us. I didn't tell him or Kevin where we were going. I just told them we had to pack a lunch and we headed out.

When we pulled into the parking lot Tye was thrilled! He started screaming "YAY Lowry Park Zoo!!!!!!"

The first area he wanted to go to was the water park. So off we went and he played for quite awhile.

Then we got him changed back into his regular clothes and we headed off to find the manatee. In the same tank there were several turtles that came up to say hi to him. :-)


And then there was a manatee that came up to see him. I thought it was so cool that he could get this picture. It seems like they are always just floating by, but never just hang out there like they are posing for a picture! hehehe

Then we went out to the picnic tables and had lunch. We had sandwiches and sun chips.

Then we headed back into the zoo and went to the ice cream stand. It was sooooooo yummy! I haven't had a regular ice cream cone in ages. It was a good special treat. :-)

And as you can see, Tye really enjoyed it and got into it! lol

We had a really great time! The weather was beautiful and it wasn't very crowded. We can't wait to go back again! I am so glad we got the annual pass and that Tye loves it as much as I do. :-)
