Planting #1 4/5/10

On Monday we planted our veggies. We planted 3 pepper plants, (yes we decided not to wait for the seeds this year, we want peppers right away! lol) one per square. We eat quite a few of them, between Confetti Meatloaf, Fajitas, April and David's Redneck Mexican Casserole, and about 3 other regular meals we go through plenty. :-)

Then we planted onion plants. We have 16 in a square. We have enough that in about 3 weeks we will plant some more.

Then Tye helped plant the lettuce seeds. 4 per square (2 in each hole just in case the seeds don't sprout). We will plant some more in about 3-4 weeks.

And then the radishes. There are 16 per square. We did one square and then in 2 weeks we will start another square of radishes. Kevin really likes radishes and we understand they are very easy to grow. We are going to pick them right at the 3 week mark because Kevin wants them smaller and sweeter.

Here is our garden to begin with. We have 6 squares planted right now and will plant at least 3 more in about 2-4 weeks. We also are planning on planting sweet potatos, regular potatos, and popcorn for now. We will see what else we feel like we can tackle later on.
