The squirrels were digging in our garden, luckily not in the squares we had plants in, but digging nonetheless. So we decided to build a cage to go over the garden. We decided to build it big enough to go over our taller plants as they grew.
Since Mary and Jack were here I enlisted Jack's help to make the cage. We made a Home Depot run to gather our supplies and then Jack, Tye and I set to work.
Cutting the chicken wire. It kept curling up, so Tye's job was to stand on it. lol

Mr. Inspector General lol Always wanting to know why it is being done and how! lol

Jack cutting the chicken wire.

Here is the 4 x 4 frame that we built that is the base of the cage.

The fame with the chicken wire going both ways. We used the frame to curl the chicken wire up. Then we attached the frame to the bottom of the chicken wire with electrical ties--where all 4 sides came up.

Using more ties to attach the chicken wire together. At this point we were wondering if it was too tall to stand up on its own! lol

The finished product. Everyone is so proud!!! And I think it looks great!

Covering the garden! We did straighten out the sides a bit more after I took this picture though. And a look at the garden. (And no I am not posting the picture that Tye took of my rear-end bent over fixing the cage! lol)
Hahaha squirrels you lose!!! lol I win!
